About Alexandre Coutinho
Alexandre Coutinho is a Vehicle Certification Engineer at BRP in St-Hyacinthe, QC, Canada, where he has worked since April 2024. He leads Conformity of Production and internal audits, and works on battery and powertrain certification (UN 38.3, UNECE R136), EMC (UNECE R10, CISPR 12) and CE marking. He helped homologate EV batteries and 2- and 3-wheel vehicles. Before BRP, he worked at Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Alstom, CERTIFER, ADB SAFEGATE, Grammer and John Cockerill.
Alexandre is a Certified IATF 16949 Lead Auditor (AIAG, June 2026–June 2029, credential IATF-SACT-03-2606-1177-4510), an FMEA Specialist (January 2025), a Six Sigma Black Belt and a Functional Safety Engineer (IEC 61508, TÜV Rheinland). He holds an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from Université de Bordeaux, an MBA from Universidade Paulista and a BEng in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. He also works with ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
He works in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish, and supports clients across North America and internationally. Through Certix Consulting, he helps suppliers prepare for certification and internal audits with practical, hands-on guidance — from gap analysis to audit readiness.
